A peek inside one girl's love for Britain (and some random bits and bobs I come across that I love)- from a British girl at heart, living in Chicago with a nationality identity crisis. I started this blog to share my obsession with all things British - and I do mean ALL things - fashion, food, culture, history, literature, the Royal Family, stately homes - but I can also get totally off topic, so don't be alarmed if you see the occasional post that has nothing to do at all with the UK!

The Perfect Cup of Tea
I saw this adorable mug on Amazon and totally snatched it up. I'm pretty sure that by now I've gotten my cuppa down to a science, and know exactly how I like it given the amount of times a day I drink it, but it was too cute to pass up. The cup is entitled My Cuppa Tea - Colour Matching Guide, and features four Pantone colour swatches around the inside of the mug to which you can match your tea, for the perfect cuppa every time! The four colours are Milky, Classic British, Builders Brew, and Just Tea. At first I thought I might be Milky, but it turns out, I'm Classic British, with a slight lean towards Builders Brew! (as if there was any doubt) Too cute not to share.
P.S. - There's one for you coffee drinkers too!

Steamline Luggage
Speaking as a seasoned traveler that has had her luggage lost many times and breaks out into a sweat at baggage claim praying her bag is there, you would think by now I would have bought a piece of luggage that might be, well, not a black Samsonite like everyone else's! It's very frustrating to have to describe your suitcase to some poor soul in baggage when you know that someone is going to have to search for it in a sea of look-alikes, name tag or not. And i'm the one standing at the opening of the conveyor belt, just to make sure no one takes mine by accident. I'd love to have something cute, fun, and stylish that really stood out at baggage claim and while hauling it to and from the airport and hotel.
On the hunt for some lovely cases I stumbled upon Steamline Luggage - and I'm totally in love. I've always really loved vintage cases, but didn't want to sacrifice modern perks (such as wheels and pull handles). I just love The Editor collection. Added bonus, they could even be used for some beautiful storage pieces when you're at home (I would never put them away, far to pretty!). What do you all think? Do you have a favourite set that stands out? Or do you stick to the tried and true? Check them out to see their latest collections!

The week in Instagram
This week was just the right amount of business and pleasure - catching up with friends and getting lots done! Tea time and cupcakes with my Sis in Law, happy hour with the Hubby, a cute little crown, and fabulous California weather - perfection.

things I love
I thought I'd post a few images that have inspired me. (this is some of that randomness I mention in my blog description) Some are images of things that are just pretty and some spoke to me on a different level. I enjoy looking at photos that just put a smile on my face, and make me happy - for more inspiration, check out my Pinterest boards!
